This year Sligo Grammar School students had the opportunity to travel to Spain to improve their Spanish and to experience something of the culture of the country. First Year students went to Alcalá, near Madrid for a week, studying in a secondary school and staying with Spanish families. They left Ireland on Monday 11th January and were back in Sligo Grammar School on Monday 18th. This is the first time Grammar School Spanish students have been on an exchange in Spain and it proved to be great fun – and great for their Spanish! A group of students from the Spanish school will come to visit and study in Sligo Grammar School later in the term. Huge thanks to their teachers, Ms. McIntyre and Mr. Robert for organising the trip.
