On Friday 4th March Sligo Grammar School will host the Connacht Schools Athletic Association Sligo 5K run. This run is part of the All-Ireland Schools and Universities Cross Country Finals which will be held this year in Sligo. This GloHealth-sponsored event will take place at Sligo Racecourse and international athletes Sonia O’Sullivan and Catriona McKiernan will both be present at the event. The weekend will kick off with an evening with Sonia O’Sullivan in the Southern Hotel, but of greater interest to us in Sligo Grammar School is the 5K run which will happen the next day, Friday 4th March at 7.30pm. The run will start and finish at Sligo Grammar School and Sonia O’Sullivan will be taking part. Pictures of organisers and SGS athletes who will be participating in the weekend’s events can be viewed HERE . If you want to register for the 5K run, log on to www.active.com or register on the night between 6pm and 7pm at Sligo Grammar School. Contact 087-7866845 for more information.
