The rugby season had a fantastic ending this month with two more Connacht cups coming home to Sligo Grammar School. First the Sligo Grammar School U14 Rugby Team met Marist College, Athlone on Wednesday 19th April, in the Sportsground, Galway.  After a closely fought match the SGS boys brought home the 2023 U14 Connacht League Cup. With two tries from Kelvin Kalu and one from Oisín Choo, as well as two conversions from Ollie Isherwood, SGS finally emerged as victors with a score of 19 – 17. At last, on 25th April, the SGS Junior Squad got to play the Final of the Connacht Junior League against Marist College, Athlone, in Creggs Rugby Club, Galway. The final score was 27 – 7 for SGS, with two tries from Cathal Moffatt and one each from Andrew Deegan and Ronan Mullan as well as a penalty and two conversions from Ben O’Connor.
