Fundraising Fashion Show

Posted on : April 26, 2018

On Thursday 19th April  two TY students, Erin Neilsen and Grace O’Sullivan organised and ran a Charity Fashion show in aid of the National Council for the Blind, Ireland.  The lighting and sound  technicians as well as the models were all drawn from Transition Year. Formal Day Wear, Casual Day Wear, Sportswear and Formal Evening Wear were featured with all outfits kindly supplied by EJs Menswear, Jako, Pamela Scott, Quiz, and Vila. The students also showed off their styling skills with outfits they put together using fantastic pre-loved clothes they found in the NCBI Charity Shop, Harmony Hill, Sligo. There was a special section of the show celebrating 80 Years of Fashion, with styles from the 1920’s to the 1990’s. These clothes – many of them genuine vintage clothing – were from the SGS costume store with some loaned by Sligo Drama Circle. The evening was a great success, with €440 raised. The bulk of this will be going to NCBI with the remainder going to Special Olympics. Well done to Erin and Grace, to their backstage crew and models, and thanks to the teachers who helped and advised them.
