Sligo Grammar School is very proud of 6th year Kyle Keaney who represented Ireland at the European Kickboxing Championships in the Sportski Centar in Budva, Montenegro last week. He had a fantastic week, competing in the Light Contact competition. He started by beating the Spanish contender, going on to meet the a bouncing Bulgarian in the quarter finals who he also beat. Then he was up against a strong, restless Russian competitor who eventually overcame him. Nevertheless Kyle emerged with a Bronze Medal in the European Kickboxing Championships. Kyle is a member of Collooney Kickboxing Club and, with five others, brought European medals home to Sligo. What a fantastic achievement for Kyle and his team mates, and well deserved after all the hard work and dedication.
