Aran Islands Trip

Left is a photo of a group of a group of TY students that Mrs Cox recently brought to the irish speaking Inishmore. Their they got involved in a "Tra na gCeist" (irish table quiz) and also cycled round the island and visited a heritage centre. It was great fun and everyone really enjoyed it. |
Canon T.P.S. Wood

With great sadness we
mourn the death of Canon Wood peacefully on 20th May. He had
come to Calry Parish and the school 39 years ago. The Canon was
deeply loved and respected by many for his faith, compassion,
intellect and, of course, his inimitable humour. As a community
we extend our sympathy to his family.

Young Enterprise

The Fifth year Mini-company, pictured left, called CARR reached the regional finals in the senior section of Young Enterprise. The product they were selling was recycling bins for around the home. Their business was very successful. |
| The Second Year Mini-company, pictured right, reached the National Finals in their section of Young Enterprise. Their company, Lissadell Lights, produced boxes of chocolates in the shape of Lisadell House. "Good luck" in the finals!! |

Senior Rugby Team Reach Final
| The Senior Rugby squad and their trainers are pictured left just before their final against "The Jes". They fought to the last second but were beaten 16:6. Hard luck lads - but thanks for doing us proud with your courage! |
Tabby Visits the School.
| Tabby (a rock star who recently came 3rd in the X-factor) visited the school in January to collect a cheque for €1,500 which TY students raised. This money is going towards the Tsunami disaster. |

Goodbye Mr. McPartlan
| Gerry Mc Partlan has decided to leave the school, we wish to thank him for his contribution to agricultural science classes and extra curricular activities over the years. We wish him well in the future. |
School Play
| The school play "The Importance of being Earnest" was held on the 9th and 10th of December in Calry hall. It was a huge success and congratulations to cast and backstage crew.... |

Science Quiz 2004

The Sligo Grammar School team who competed in the Regional Finals of the ISTA Senior Science Quiz 2004. It took place in the Sligo IT on Thursday the 11th November at seven o clock in Sligo IT. Where they came second place and qualified for the national finals in Trinity College |
Prize Day
| Prize Day, which was held on the 22nd of October, began with a service in Calry Church. The choir who have put in hours of preparation performed flawlessly. When the service ended prizes were presented in our new gymnasium. All the parents and pupils attended a great day for the school. |

Dissolving Boundaries Project
| Form 2 History class have just joined the Dissolving Boundaries Project-a Cross Border IT/ Curriculum based Project. We are paired with Bloomfield Collegiate School from East Belfast. Computer Conferencing, Video Conferencing and a "face to face" meeting will be part of our joint studies - which will focus mostly on The Ulster Plantation. Right the 2 teachers plan the activities! |
