Canon Merrick Resigns

Sadly this summer we say "goodbye" to our headmaster Canon John Merrick.  Canon Merrick has led the school for 18 years during which time the school has grown significantly.  Over these years the fabric and extent of the campus has been extensively and tastefully developed.   Under his guidance the family, pastoral and value driven atmosphere of the school remained a distinctive and important feature. Alongside this the intellectual, personal and social development of each and every member of the community was important to Canon Merrick.

On Thursday 20th May in Calry Church we recognised and gave thanks for these and the many other achievements and attributes of Canon Merrick and his wife Roberta.  Presentations were made following the service.  Click here to view photographs and get a flavour of the warmth of the evening.

Our talented 6th years took time out from study to raise money for their "Debs".  They got a group together and performed a medley of "golden oldies" to an enraptured audience - or so they believe.  €250 was raised - every little helps - they are open to ANY additional donations for this good cause!
