The Library

We in the Sligo Grammar School are extremely lucky to be equipted with a big school library with a great variety of books. The library was established to encourage reading, writing and librarian studies.  The Head-Librarian has been involved with the school library for many years . It opens every lunchtime and all students are welcome to come in and look through the books. Students like the Library because it gives them something constructive to do during their lunchtime and they can research and study various projects given to them by teachers with no disturbance. Students may also borrow books from the library to take home.

The Young Librarians enjoy working, and playing a vital part in running the Library.

Every year at Prize Day there is an award for the student who contributes most to the running and maintaining of the school Library. He/She receives the coveted Librarian Trophy.

We thank the Past Pupils Association for their large donation to the school library which was used to buy a number of books.
