Colaiste Uisce

This was one of the many TY trips we took this year. The trip took place in Colaiste Uisce Bellmullet Co Mayo. There were many water activities such as sailing, board-sailing, archery and all the activities were done through Irish.

Feiseanna

The Feis Shligigh competitors had immense success this year again.This takes  place in Sligo every Spring. Sligo Grammar students played a huge part in the activities. The competition consisted of comhra, oraidiocht, aithriseoireacht and leitheoireacht. There were many gold, silver, and bronze medals won. We are especially proud that we took the cup for Verse Speaking. Irish Conversation and Choral Verse Speaking.

Students also took part in the Irish Speaking Competitions in Feis Ceoil winning gold, silver and bronze medals.

Seachtain na Gaeilge

The school hosted a week long series of events through as Gaeilge - organised by 5th year.  There was the annual poster competition based on "seanfhocail ", a bingo during lunch, céilí entertainment and the annual poetry and story competition! The atmosphere created a great buzz around the school!
	The Céilí and entertainment were run in the school again this year and as the picture shows pupils enjoyed the evening...and impressed us by their dancing ability!!
Bingo  was a great success and was thoroughly enjoyed.  There was opportunity to achieve a "Fainne" for spoken Irish - 25 Or, 13 airgead and 5 daite were awarded.

An Triail is part of the leaving Certificate Course and 5th and 6th years saw an excellent production of the play staged by Fibin Theatre Company in the beautiful surroundings of An Ghrianan.

Spraoi

The Grammar School has a particularly talented group of students who competed once again and got through to the national Finals of Sianse - run by Gael Linn.  Well done!
