Our music group Spraoi have done it again! They have won the National final of the All Ireland Siansa Competition! On their return to school they enthralled the entire school at assembly by playing their winning numbers! Click here, or the picture, to hear a short clip.

Some transition year students recently went to Bellmullet Co. Mayo for Colaiste Uisce. They took to the waters of the west and showed off their skill at sailing and other water sports along with other activities. All the students who went on the trip thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Feis Shligigh
competitors had immense success last year again.This takes
place in Sligo every Spring. Sligo Grammar students played a
huge part in the activities. The competition consisted of comhra,
oraidiocht, aithriseoireacht and leitheoireacht. There were many
gold, silver, and bronze medals won. We are especially proud that we took the cup for Verse Speaking. Irish Conversation and Choral Verse Speaking. |
Students also took part in the Irish Speaking Competitions in Feis Ceoil winning gold, silver and bronze medals.
Seachtain na Gaeilge
This year's Irish Week was a big success. There was the annual poster competition in which the winners will be announced Monday.There was also bingo, céilí entertainment and the annual poetry and story competition! The atmosphere created a great buzz around the school!
The Céilí and entertainment were run in the school again last year and the pupils enjoyed the evening...and impressed us by their dancing ability!! Bingo was a great success and was thoroughly enjoyed. There was opportunity to achieve a "Fainne" for spoken Irish which was a good success. A new event was the Puc Fada!

An Triail is part of the leaving Certificate Course and last year's 5th and 6th years saw an excellent production of the play staged by Fibin Theatre Company in the beautiful surroundings of An Ghrianan.
