Athletics

The school has both Track and Field and Cross Country Teams and we have had huge success in both throughout the year.  In 2008, a variety of of the school athletes ran in the 'Schools Cross Country' in Beleek. Well done to our Inter girls team where one of the runners came in first position. The team qualified for the Connaughts and later to the All Irelands where they ran well in both. The athletes ran in the Track and Field competition recently.  Manyy of the boys and girls took back medals from the event and we wish them luck in their next event!

Winning Teams!

Well done to our Inter Girls Relay team and our Senior Boys Relay Team who both won gold at the recent 'Schools Relay Event'. It is the first time that this competition has been held and there was an impressive turn out from all the schools around Sligo. Sligo Grammar sent 30 of its pupils out and managed to successfully bring back a huge haul of medals! Not bad for their first track race of the season!

A Family Affair! Brother and sister....winners of Connaught Region in Track and Field events!  Both were also in the All-Ireland Finals Cross-Country....and "the brother" got on the Irish Team.  Well done!
